Beteavòn is above all the cuisine of friendship. This is how, one evening a week, Beteavón volunteers meet with volunteers from Sant’Egidio, a volunteer organization that works for the poor and for peace. The two groups meet about 5 minutes from Milan’s Garibaldi Station to organize the bags of food. Usually, Beteavón prepares a hot meal (such as pasta with meat sauce or soup), while Sant’Egidio provides products such as bread, focaccia, snacks, fruit and juices. Once they have finished packing the food, the volunteers go to Garibaldi Station where there is a meeting point with the homeless.
